Lovoni’s Lark is a place I share my life not just in food but my love for travel, adventure, creativity, curiosity, health, happenings, work & random other things I love. Thanks for visiting.
If your name is your destiny then I was meant to cook. My name hails from Fiji & in part means ‘underground oven’. I’m named after my mum & we’re the namesake of a “lush & fertile” village set in & around an inactive volcano. My Pa, originally from New Zealand, was raised in a town just outside of Lovoni Valley – hence the name. For those with an unusual name, you’ll know the challenges it brings. Age has taught me to embrace it as I do love individuality & those who march to the beat of their own drum.
I’m an Aussie who has been living abroad for the last 21 years – first in Canada & then the USA. People ask me if I’d ever move back to Australia: I will always be an Aussie, even though I hold citizenship in three countries, but I love England so much (my dad was from England), and could see myself living there, perhaps traveling back & forth between countries. I love all the countries I’ve lived in but I feel like I’m home when I’m in England.
Working in food media, I’m a cookbook author; food stylist; cookery teacher & I had a TV food show when I lived in Canada. As a certified nutritionist I believe in nourishment not punishment & love pastry, good wine & afternoon teas. Full of wanderlust, I’m always on the lookout for my next adventure…
