Purple antioxidant juice made from beets, red cabbage, carrots, blueberries & red grapes, is a powerful juice that can aid in giving you a bit of a clean-out & help with overall health. I don’t suggest this juice to newbie juicers because of its antioxidant properties. But it’s a good juice & one I will turn to from time to time, especially after being sick, taking cold & flu medications &/or antibiotics.

Truth be told, I prefer to eat beets than drink their juice but because I know of the power of beet juice, I drink it anyway. For me, juicing isn’t about sipping on a yummy drink – this isn’t a cocktail. Juicing is about obtaining better health through consuming a generous quantity of nutrients from fruits & vegetables without the fiber that your body needs to digest. Instead, the nutrients are absorb easily from juice. And when I say “juice” I mean, juice obtained from using a juice extractor made fresh everyday. And not juice sold in a grocery store. That’s been subjected to heat treatment to preserve it abolishing so much of its goodness. Vitamins, especially vitamin C, are destroyed by heat, so if you’re going to commit to juicing, you’re going to have to invest in a juice extractor & take the 10 to 15 minutes each time you juice to wash your produce, juice the produce then clean your juicer. It’s no more time than making a meal & with practice, you get faster at the process. I juice each morning. It becomes a routine I guess, some days I really have to force myself – like exercising – you feel better after.

Juicing is one of the most successful way to obtain a good dose of nutrients. And as I mentioned those nutrients are more easily absorbed by the body than consuming the whole food. I notice these health benefits from juicing:
- my aches & pains are substantially lessened
- my skin glows
- I sleep better
- I eat less
- I lose weight
- I feel more hydrated
- my head feels clearer
- I get less headaches
- overall, I feel more vibrant & alive
- skin irritations dissipate
On a side note, if you’re not a regular eater of beets or consumer of their juice, don’t be alarmed when you go to the bathroom because it looks as though there’s something seriously wrong – everything is crimson. Ev-er-ry-thing! So be forewarned. Juice on my friend – it really is beneficial to good health.
