The object of juicing is for nourishment. Unlike a smoothie, a juice is not something that is to be sipped on & ogled over. At least not in my book. If you want to start juicing, remove any thoughts from your mind this is a journey in deliciousness. It’s not. I drink homemade vegetable juice purely for the nutrients I receive from it. Definitely not something to be sipped on like a cocktail – although if truth be told, I drink those pretty fast too.
Sunburst juice is loaded with beta carotene. The body converts beta carotene into vitamin A – essential for healthy skin, eyes, mucus membranes & our immune system. Sunburst juice is also high in vitamin C – a powerful antioxidant, supporter of brain health, our immune system, helps iron absorption & can lower the risk of heart disease. I’ve always known it to be beneficial to our skin, especially as we age. Something I’m becoming increasingly familiar with.

Regardless of what vegetables (& a little fruit) you’re juicing – a good ratio is 80/20 – 80% vegetable & 20% fruit, there’s a standard list of health benefits to juicing. Even if you’re replacing just one meal with juice, you will reap the benefits from it. These include, but aren’t limited to:
- high dose of nutrients
- easy for the body to digest
- hydrating
- helps increase your energy levels – probably due to the hydrating properties
- eases pain associated with arthritis
- helps skin irritations
- helps boost the immune system
- healing
- glowing skin
- better gut health – improves digestion
- helps rid the body of excess fluid build up

There’s a lot of information about on juicing. Not all of it accurate & a lot of it written by people who’ve never juiced for a sustained period. I have so I speak from experience rather than parroting what others have written about the effects of juicing. To learn more about what a powerful healer juicing can be I recommend this book called Reboot with Joe. Joe Cross, the same man who made the documentaries Fat Sick & Nearly Dead (1 & 2). Watch at least the first movie – it’s powerful & talks about how Joe not only lost an astonishing amount of weight through juicing but also cured himself of a rare skin condition no doctor could help.
If you’re new to juicing, this sunburst juice could be a good place to start. Containing orange, sweet peppers (capsicums), strawberries & carrots, all these are slightly sweeter & more palpable than other juices.
